'Fighting in shops for last bottle of water'

Residents of Derbyshire and Leicestershire say they have not been able to buy enough water, after Severn Trent warned thousands not to use the mains supply.

The water company said it was investigating high levels of chlorine at the Castle Donington reservoir in Derbyshire.

It told people in the DE11, DE15, DE65, DE73 and LE65 areas of Derbyshire and Leicestershire not to use water for any purpose.

A total of 3,560 properties have been affected.
