Term-time holiday father Jon Platt wins at High Court
Judges have ruled in favour of a father who refused to pay a fine for taking his daughter out of school for a week's holiday.
Jon Platt, from the Isle of Wight, was fined a £120 when he took his six year old to Disneyworld in Florida without the school's permission.
But the High Court has decided that because the child did attend school regularly despite her unauthorised holiday Mr Platt had done nothing wrong.
The ruling could have implications for parents across England.
