Law change pondered over term-time breaks

The government will consider changing the law in England after the High Court ruled in favour of a father who took his daughter on holiday during term-time.

Jon Platt had refused to pay a fine because he said his child had attended regularly.

Tens of thousands of parents have been fined for taking their children out of school since the law changed in September 2013.
