Jo Cox MP: 'All of us are united in deep sadness' - May
The Home Secretary, Theresa May, has reacted to the death of Labour MP Jo Cox, who was shot and stabbed during an attack in her constituency.
Ms May offered condolences to family and friends of Mrs Cox, and said "all of us are united in deep sadness".
Both official EU referendum campaigns have suspended their operations as a mark of respect.
West Yorkshire Police said a 52-year-old man was arrested near Market Street, Birstall, where the MP held a weekly advice surgery.
