Nobel winner: Attack on experts 'undermines science'

One of the UK's leading scientists says experts "are being derided and pushed back".

Nobel prize-winning geneticist Sir Paul Nurse told BBC Newsnight that this risked undermining science and scientific evidence.

He also said comments about experts made by the then justice secretary Michael Gove three weeks before the referendum were "irresponsible".

Mr Gove told Sky News, external that "people in this country have had enough of experts".

Mr Gove says his comments were taken out of context.
