Martin Amis: Brexit 'a denial of British decline'

Brexit is a "self-inflicted wound" and a "denial" of the decline of Britain after its empire, the novelist Martin Amis has said.

Speaking to the Today programme, Mr Amis said he was as depressed as his friend Ian McEwan about Brexit.

"I don't like the kind of nostalgic utopia that has been booted about," he said.
