Russian exile: 'Skripal targeted by criminal gangs'

An acquaintance of ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal has told the BBC that he believes he may have been targeted by criminal gangs.

Mr Skripal and his daughter Yulia collapsed on Sunday afternoon after being exposed to a nerve agent.

Fellow Russian exile Valery Morozov suggested the poisoning may have been an attempt to internationally discredit President Putin ahead of Russia's election.
