Coronavirus: Boris Johnson says taking action is 'right and responsible thing to do'

The prime minister has said taking action against Covid infection rates now is the "right and responsible thing to do".

Speaking at a Downing Street press conference, Boris Johnson said local contact tracing would be introduced for areas under new restrictions.

His speech came ahead of Tier 3 restrictions coming into force in several areas on Saturday.
