Boris Johnson urges Manchester to accept new Covid restrictions

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged Manchester's mayor to engage with the new tier programme which will see the city enter tighter Covid restrictions.

In a statement addressing the nation he said he planned to intervene if agreement could not be reached with the mayor.
