'Thank you Gareth Thomas... you saved my life'

Gilliyan fell ill close to her 50th birthday but tests conducted by various doctors failed to provide a diagnosis.

After watching former rugby player Gareth Thomas's documentary HIV and Me, Gilliyan decided to get tested for the virus.

BBC Breakfast facilitated a conversation between Gilliyan and Gareth because she wanted to thank him for "saving her life".
