Brexit debate: 'We were told we could not have our cake and eat it'

During a debate on the EU-UK post-Brexit bill, the prime minister Boris Johnson described the bill as embodying the British vision of a new relationship between Britain and the EU as sovereign equals 'joined by friendship, commerce, history, interests and values while respecting one another's freedom of action'.

MPs will vote on the bill later on Wednesday.
