I believe PM is telling the truth - Rishi Sunak

Chancellor Rishi Sunak says he accepts Boris Johnson's explanation regarding a Downing Street drinks party during lockdown in May 2020.

His comments came after Boris Johnson's former chief aide Dominic Cummings accused the prime minister of lying to Parliament about the event, claiming he knew in advance it was a drinks party.

Mr Johnson has insisted that he "implicitly" believed that the gathering in No 10's garden was a work event.
