Glider pilot's relief at surviving mid-air crash

A pilot who parachuted to safety after two gliders crashed thought he was going to hit his aircraft.

Gerrard Dale was taken to hospital after he landed in woodland near Newmarket in Suffolk.

Both pilots had been taking part in the annual gliding championship held at the Cambridge Gliding Club.
