London parents in 'poverty trap' - Barnardo's

Too many London parents are caught in a "poverty trap", where expensive childcare makes it difficult to justify trying to get a job, according to the children's charity Barnardo's.

The charity is calling on the government to increase the hours of free childcare and the number of children who will benefit in the forthcoming universal credit.

BBC London's Marc Ashdown spoke to Barnardo's assistant director of policy Neera Sharma, Hackney South and Shoreditch Labour MP Meg Hiller and Conservative Brentford and Isleworth MP Mary Macleod.
