Oxford grooming sex case: Parents praise girls for 'courage'

The parents of a young girl who was abused by men involved in a sexual grooming ring in Oxford have paid tribute to their daughter for her "courage" in giving evidence.

In a statement read out by Rhianne Pope from Thames Valley Police, the family of "Girl One" - who cannot be indentified - thanked all of the six victims for "finding the strength" to speak out against their abusers.

Two pairs of brothers were among five men jailed for life on Thursday for their part in the paedophile ring.

The men were convicted of several counts of of rape, child prostitution and trafficking.
