Big wave surfer Andrew Cotton welcomed back to Devon

Friends and fans of big wave surfer Andrew Cotton welcomed him back to Devon with a screening of his epic wave riding in Portugal.

A film of him riding a wave estimated to be about 30m (100ft) high off Nazare in October led to the plumber from Braunton being tipped to take the world record for the biggest wave surfed.

Mr Cotton, who was guest of honour at the film event held in Croyde by the Museum of British Surfing, will find out if he has won next year.
