"Disney-fication" fear over English Heritage plan
Plans to turn English Heritage into a self-financing charity could lead to the "Disney-fication" of historic sites, it has been claimed.
As part of a proposed reorganisation, the group's government funding is set to be phased out.
Supporters say establishing charity status would help it secure its long-term future and aid the preservation of important properties.
But critics claim it would have a negative impact on their upkeep.
