Durham Tees Valley Airport campaigners take fight to Downing Street
A campaign to "save" Durham Tees Valley Airport is to be taken to Downing Street.
A 4,500-signature petition will be handed in this week with campaigners calling for investment and a greater effort to attract flights and passengers.
Last year the airport's owner, the Peel Group, announced multimillion-pound plans to build homes and a business park on the site.
Passenger numbers have slumped from more than 900,000 to around 160,000 in recent years.
