Stephen Sutton: Download festival pays tribute to teenager

More than 50,000 fans at the Download music festival have held a minute's applause and given a 'thumbs up' for cancer fundraiser Stephen Sutton.

The 19-year-old, from Burntwood in Staffordshire, died last month after helping to raise almost £4m for charity.

Festival organisers said they had decided to naming the main stage after Stephen in honour of "his epic fundraising efforts".

Going to Download at Donington Park in Leicestershire was on his a bucket list of things to do before he died. He attended in 2013.

Stephen's friend, Adam Coles said: "[I'm] overwhelmed really. People come to Download to see world famous bands and they're cheering and clapping for our mate."
