WW2 veteran in Blackpool's Big One roller coaster abseil

An 89-year-old World War Two veteran has abseiled from the top of a Blackpool roller coaster to raise money for charity.

Harold Addy, from Manchester, said he had been "a bit nervy stepping off" the 235ft (71m) high track of the Big One at the town's Pleasure Beach but he had "enjoyed it".

Mr Addy, who served in Normandy, was taking part in the event which saw about 40 others complete the abseil, to raise funds for ABF The Soldiers' Charity.
