Hastings and Walpole Bay beaches at risk of water failings
Hastings in East Sussex is one of the poorest performing beaches in the South East in terms of bathing water quality, according to new EU standards.
It is one of dozens of beaches around the UK at risk of failing the tough new standards which come into effect next year.
Others include Lancing and Bexhill, also in Sussex, and Walpole Bay and Littlestone in Kent.
Sara Neville from Sunday Politics South East spoke to the Labour leader of Hastings Borough Council, Jeremy Birch, Paul Kent of Southern Water, and Steve Manwaring, of the Clean Seas Please Campaign.
