UKIP MEP Janice Atkinson uses 'outrageous' term for Thai woman

UKIP MEP Janice Atkinson has been criticised for using a "rude, outrageous and offensive" term to describe a Thai constituent in Kent.

Janice Atkinson, who was elected to represent the South East in May, was recorded using the term "ting tong" about Fa Munday by BBC South East Today after an interview in Ramsgate on Friday.

Mrs Munday's husband Vincent said the comments were rude, outrageous and offensive.

Ms Atkinson said: "I deeply regret the words I used and am incredibly sorry."
