Scalextric fans bid for world title in Essex and Sussex
Fans of the classic slot car racing game Scalextric have taken part in the final heats to decide the winner of the 2015 Scalextric World Championship.
More than 200 people of all ages and experience competed in six car 10 lap races around a 28ft (8.55m) circuit at simultaneous events held in Harlow, Essex and in Goring-by-Sea, West Sussex, on Saturday.
However, no-one could beat the time of 24.49 seconds recorded in August by 14-year-old Ted Trim, from Theydon Bois, in Essex, who becomes this year's world champion.
