Couple's nine-month wait for damp house to be fixed

A couple has said their health has been affected after a nine-month battle to get damp and mould in their sheltered housing treated.

Cornwall Council designated the damp at the property in Launceston as a Category 1 health hazard - the highest level.

Jeanette and Steve Padginton had to move out of the bedroom because the damp was so bad.

Owner Sanctuary Housing said it was sorry for the length of time it had taken to resolve the problem and it would be offering the couple alternative accommodation.
