Basil Kirchin: Making music from autistic children's voices

Maverick musician and experimental composer Basil Kirchin, who is credited as a founding father of ambient music, was interviewed on BBC Radio 3's Mixing It programme in 2003.

He explains to presenter Mark Russell how he came across the sounds he recorded for Quantum and his Worlds Within Worlds series of albums.

This included the voices of autistic children and a tram hurtling around a corner in Switzerland.
