Pulling out of Appleby station for the first time this year

The first Northern service to run on the Settle to Carlisle line in 13 months left Carlisle this morning.

The stretch at Eden Brows, between Carlisle and Armathwaite had to be shut in February 2016 after 500,000 tones of earth moved.
