Bedfordshire Wrest Park garden photo recreated

An image of a "secret garden" that first appeared in the Gardeners' Chronicle more than 100 years ago has been recreated by gardeners in Bedfordshire.

Staff at Wrest Park recreated the image, known as Trusted Servants, on the steps of the Orangery, with modern machinery in place of the more traditional horse-drawn tools shown originally.

The 90-acre landscape is now managed by English Heritage and re-opened to the public in August 2011 as part of a 20-year restoration plan.
