Leighton Buzzard school sends balloon to 'edge of space'

A school in Bedfordshire successfully launched a balloon to the edge of space.

Technology pupils at Cedars Upper School in Leighton Buzzard were behind the project.

The weather balloon was launched in Cambridge to avoid the flying zone around Luton Airport.

The balloon reached a height of 23 miles (37km) before it popped. A parachute brought the rest of it back down to earth, where it landed in Suffolk.
