A Reading homeless charity gives pub new lease of life

A derelict pub in Reading is getting a new lease of life by becoming a shelter for the homeless.

The Queens Arms in Great Knollys Street is being converted by Christian charity New Beginnings, set up by former homeless woman Grace Gomez, into an alcohol-free community hub.

Work is under way to spruce up the interior to make it fit for use, with an estimated opening date in July.
