Peaky Blinders fans see new episode at Birmingham premiere

Fans of BBC drama Peaky Blinders have been able to watch the first episode of the second series at a special premiere in Birmingham.

The show, which takes its name from a gang in the city who wore flat caps with razor blades hidden in the peaks, is set after World War One.

Actor and gang leader Cillian Murphy was among the stars who walked the red carpet along the city's Broad Street, as well as local actor Harry Kirton.

Kirton plays Finn, a younger brother of Murphy, and was cast from open auditions in the city earlier this year.

He said the whole experience has been "overwhelming".

The new series starts on BBC Two next month.
