'Trojan Horse' school Oldknow Academy joins national chain

One of the Birmingham schools at the centre of the Trojan Horse investigation has announced it will be joining a national academy chain.

Education charity Ark will take over Oldknow Academy from September.

The school, in Small Heath, was rated "inadequate" by Ofsted and governors were accused of promoting a "narrow, faith-based" ideology.

Ark said Oldknow would "remain a local, non-selective, non-denominational, mixed school".
