Birmingham riot victim's dad to help boat migrants

Tariq Jahan, whose son was killed in the Birmingham riots in 2011, is travelling to Lesbos in Greece to help deliver aid to migrants and refugees arriving in boats.

Mr Jahan, who appealed for peace after his son Haroon and two other men died, said going through his own plight over his son helped him understand a little of the refugees' suffering.

He joined The Convoy of Hope for Humanity alongside Birmingham Ladywood Labour MP Shabana Mahmood to deliver aid donated by the British public.
