Parents of Rosie Ross to close her charity

The parents of a teenage girl who was stabbed to death in Birmingham are winding down the charity set up in her name.

Rosie Ross, from Aldridge, was killed by a man with schizophrenia in 2001 as she sunbathed in the city centre. She was 16.

Her parents set up Rosie's Helping Hands which has raised more than £350,000 for young people.

Karen Ross, Rosie's mother, said: "Next year it will be 16 years which is the same amount of time we had Rosie and we didn't really want to take the charity past that time."
