Online fans support a nine-year-old boy's battle to beat rare illness

A nine-year-old boy fighting a rare form of cancer is winning online support in his battle to beat the disease.

Alex Goodwin, who lives on the Warwickshire/Leicestershire border, has been diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma of his right femur.

It's thought that less than 30 children in the UK develop the disease each year.

Alex, who says cancer is 'stupid', has won thousands of admirers on Facebook and Twitter for his determination to overcome the disease.
