Breast surgeon 'violated' me - patient

A woman who was operated on four times as a teenager by the disgraced surgeon Ian Paterson said the experience left her feeling "violated".

Jade Edgington, 28, from Solihull, had a lump removed from her breast on Paterson's advice when she was 16. She had another three lumps removed by him over the next three years.

Paterson, from Altrincham, Greater Manchester, worked at hospitals run by the Heart of England NHS Trust and Spire Healthcare.

On Friday, he was convicted of intentionally wounding patients.

When the surgeon was investigated and his patients recalled, Ms Edgington was told by doctors her surgery had been unnecessary.
