'Running helped me overcome depression after sight loss'

After Lucy Edwards lost her sight at the age of 17, the dramatic change in her life led her to being diagnosed with depression.

Now aged 21, Lucy is set to compete in the London Marathon on 23 April.

The jogging convert, who has a rare genetic disorder called Incontinentia Pigmenti, only took up the hobby last August.

But along with her guide, Steve Pitt, she plans to go from "laps of the park" to the 26.2-mile course around the capital.

Lucy who is raising money for Guide Dogs UK said: "Running has become such a passion of mine that will never leave me."
