Charlotte Bevan told no bed available at psychiatric unit

During an inquest into the deaths of Charlotte Bevan and her four-day-old daughter Zaani, it emerged she had shown an interest in going to a specialist psychiatric unit.

The 30-year-old had been under the care of the New Horizons team - a specialist unit for women with mental illnesses - after becoming pregnant but was discharged in July.

The inquest was told she could not be transferred at the beginning of December because of a lack of beds.

BBC Points West's Health Correspondent Matthew Hill reports.
