'Big softy' Avon and Somerset police dog retires

"He's given a few of the handlers a few grey hairs along the way, but he is a big softy at heart."

PC Dan Kemble from Avon and Somerset police has been working with PD Ronnie for the last five years.

In that time, he's had an illustrious career which includes saving a man's life and protecting world leaders at the G7 summit in Cornwall in 2021.

But a degenerative bone condition means Ronnie has had to retire and PC Kemble will have to give him up.

The officer said it will be tough to say goodbye to him.
