Archive video shows Peterborough train derailment aftermath

Archive pictures showed the aftermath of a train derailment on the East Coast Main Line in 1955.

Five passengers on board the service between London King's Cross and Leeds were injured in the accident, which happened just north of Westwood Bridge in Peterborough on 1 September.

The engine, the tender and two coaches came off the track and pictures showed crews working to clear the line.

An official report into the incident said there were no serious casualties because the train had only been travelling at 20mph (30km/h).
