Cambridgeshire Police dog catches burglar in garden centre

Bodycam footage has been released showing the moment a police dog apprehended a burglar in a garden centre.

Vinnie and his handler were sent to Dobbies Garden Centre in Wyton, near Huntingdon, on 23 October after police were contacted by the security company that monitors the store's CCTV.

Cambridgeshire Police said camera operators watched as Ricky Homer stole charity tins from the tills and filled trolleys with goods from the store.

Homer, 36, and of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to burglary and possession of class B drugs and was jailed for a year at Cambridge Crown Court.

Det Con Neil Patrick described him as "an opportunist burglar with a number of crimes under his belt".
