DJ Walker on Fisherman's Friends

DJ Johnnie Walker says he feels "hugely shocked" by the death of Trevor Grills from shanty group Fisherman's Friends.

Mr Grills, 54, suffered critical injuries after being hit by a falling metal door at G Live in Guildford on Saturday. The group's tour manager Paul McMullen, 44, from Cheshire, also died in the incident.

The DJ said he first heard the group when one of them handed him a CD while he was on holiday in Port Issac.

After hearing their music he sought out a manager and within several days a record contract had been signed.
