Warwickshire cyclist in world record attempt

Cancer survivor James Golding is in training to beat a long-standing cycling world record.

He hopes to cycle more than 1546.8 miles in seven days to beat an endurance record set by Australian Pat Hawkins in 1940.

Mr Golding, from Rugby, Warwickshire, was first diagnosed with a tumour between his spine, kidneys and bowel in 2009.

The 33-year-old said his recovery inspired him to take up cycling seriously and raise money for charity.
