Foodbank demand in West Midlands higher than last year
More people visited foodbanks in the West Midlands in the first eight months of this year compared to the whole of 2012, figures released to the BBC's Sunday Politics show.
A total of 41,000 people in the region turned to foodbanks for help last year, compared with 50,000 up to August this year.
Susan Salamino, from Coventry, said she would have had to steal to feed her family if foodbanks had not been there to support her.
BBC Coventry & Warwickshire's political reporter Sian Grzeszczyk reports.
