Jaguar Land Rover £1bn Chinese factory begins production

Car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has opened its first factory in China.

The Warwickshire-based company has invested more than a £1bn in the plant at Changshu with its Chinese partner Chery Automobile.

The plant is expected to to produce 130,000 cars a year including the Range Rover Evoque.

Coventry-based component manufacturer CovPress said it has taken on an extra 20 workers and introduced a new shift making components for the Chinese factory.
