Hunt for Co-op Santa sleighs that delighted 1950s families

The public has been asked to help track down Santa's lost sleighs and the Co-op staff who worked on them.

The motorised sleigh rides at Co-op stores were a Christmas tradition for families dating back more than 50 years, but many have disappeared.

Coventry Transport Museum, which has the old ride that used to entertain children at a Co-op branch in the city, is hoping to find out more about the fleet.

The museum's piece is believed to be the only working vintage motorised sleigh ride in the country. It started running in 1956, with others based in London, York, Belfast, Dalston, Ashton-under-Lyne and Sheffield.
