Alston residents fear ambulance downgrade would leave them vulnerable

People in a North Pennines town say they are worried they could be left vulnerable if their ambulance service is downgraded.

Alston has had its own ambulance for 46 years crewed by local people who have some training but are not qualified paramedics.

They give first aid while 999 crews travel from Carlisle or Penrith.
