Transplant patient John Leveson tells of medal success

A transplant patient has told how his operation gave him a second chance of life and helped him become a medal-winning cyclist.

John Leveson, of Cumbria, was diagnosed with an incurable illness in 2007 and had only months left to live by the time he received a transplant at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle in 2009.

Speaking during National Transplant Week, he is hoping his story will encourage others to join the organ donor register and help save more lives.
