Lake district village opposes fell zip wire plan

Plans to install a zip wire on a Lake District fell have met with opposition from businesses and residents.

The company behind the idea, Treetop Treks, wants to run the cable from an old lead mine above Glenridding, allowing people to travel across the valley at speeds of up to 60mph.

However, some feel it could drive away visitors seeking peace and quiet.
