Flood-hit Carlisle biscuit factory resumes production
Full production has resumed at a factory that flooded, leading to a national biscuit shortage.
The site in Carlisle, which supplies McVitie's ginger nuts, Crawford's custard creams and Carr's water biscuits, was temporarily closed after it was devastated during storms in December.
Produced at the site since 1831, the factory makes some 80,000 tonnes of biscuits a year.
United Biscuits said people are "very passionate" about the products and it was a "really good achievement" to get them back into the shops.
