Derby scouts' Christmas delivery service up by 50%
Organisers of a charity postal service run by scouts in Derby say they are handling 50% more cards this Christmas than in previous years.
Derby scout leader Nigel Tattershall said he thought demand had increased because Royal Mail had put up the cost of a second class stamp to 50p.
The scouts charge 20p to deliver an item, with all the proceeds going to charity.
The postal scheme in Derby has been going for 30 years and has raised almost £1m for scouting and other local charities.
